Haiku North America is a biennial poetry conference that started in 1991. It seeks to celebrate haiku and related poetry in North America through papers, presentations, workshops, readings, and other activities. The first conference was held in Livermore, California (near San Francisco) in 1991. Subsequent conferences have been in Livermore again (1993), Toronto (1995), Portland, Oregon (1997), Evanston, Illinois (near Chicago) (1999), Boston (2001), New York City (2003), Port Townsend, Washington (near Seattle) (2005), Winston-Salem, North Carolina (2007), and Ottawa (2009). The 2011 HNA conference will be held August 3-7, 2011 in Seattle at Seattle Center, at the foot of the Space Needle. This blog provides information about the upcoming HNA conference.
